International patient care you can trust!

Getting Started

Payment Process

When you schedule your treatment, a 50% deposit is required. Once you've arrived at the hospital, you'll meet with your physician for a consultation and a final pre-treatment evaluation. At the discretion of your physician, some additional testing may be needed. Once the evaluation and testing are complete, the price quote will be finalized. 40% of the total balance will be due at that time. During your recovery at the hospital, you'll receive daily updates on your bill. The final balance will be due at the time of discharge.

Insurance Coverage

Some U.S. insurers will pay part or all of your medical costs, although this is not usually the case. We suggest that you ask your insurer and negotiate this ahead of time. In order to adjust your bill for anticipated insurance payments, the hospital will require a letter of guarantee from your insurer prior to your travel date. Our premier facility, Bangkok International Hospital, is known to many U.S. health insurance companies. Some insurers, such as Tri-Care, have processes already in place for accepting and processing claims.

Payment Options

You have several options for payment. Bangkok International Hospital accepts direct wire transfers to its designated bank. You may also pay with cash or travelers checks. You may also be able to make payment by international credit card. (Pre-authorization by your bank is necessary and requires early submission and authorization.)

Passports, Visas

If you hold a current U.S. passport, no advance planning is needed to enter Thailand. When you arrive at the airport (or at any official border crossing) Thai immigration officials will stamp your passport with a 30-day Visitor Visa. There is no cost for this stamp.

If you don't currently have a U.S. passport, you'll need to get one before you can enter Thailand. To learn more, visit the U.S. State Department's official website at:

Immunizations

Generally speaking, there are no immunizations required to travel to the tourist areas of Thailand. However, check with your personal physician and the CDC to be sure that your travel plans don't call for something different.
